Letter: Some should be held responsible for false alarms

Dear Editor,

I am a resident of Parkstone. During the past week, there have been three fire alarms set off in this building, two in daylight hours, one at 2:30 am +/-. The alleged miscreant is said to be well less than 16 years old. I would assume Tuscola has a curfew for those under 18 or whatever. The culprit, if found to be guilty, would be less than the curfew age. I would suggest the authorities make the parents liable for any and all costs and fees associated with this behavior, as well as whatever punishment is applicable for these events.

Several of the residents here are elderly, some have handicaps making it difficult for them to get out of the building quickly. Fortunately no one was injured. The question I have is this…Where were the parents?
